Ankle function problems are often treated with Ankle Foot Orthotics, the devices mentioned above that go into your shoes, fit close to your skin, or over your shoes to help the function of the foot and ankle.

 

Foot problems are often treated with prescription orthotics. Orthotics work by controlling excessive movements of the foot and ankle - in the case of over pronation, or by bringing the ground up to the foot in cases where part of the foot is rigid and does not have enough movement in it.
